Our 5 Pillars

our 5 Pillars

“You never change something by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete .”
– R. Buckminster Fuller

We believe that there are 5 key pillars we should focus on to guide us towards creating a more viable aid model for South Africa; one that truly serves all stakeholders and our country at large.

Our 1st Pillar is Responsible Citizenship:
Acknowledging that each of us has a role to play in building our communities and caring for the earth; and taking responsibility to do so.

Our 2nd Pillar is Community Building:
Implementing initiatives that create more meaningful connections, enable us to find ways to offer support to each other and build relationships that are exchange-based.

Our 3rd Pillar is Ensuring Social and Environmental Value Creation:
To provide every individual with the means to live a good life on an ecologically flourishing planet.

Our 4th Pillar is Impact Investing:
For marginalised individuals and communities that generate tangible benefits in a measurable way. Restorative and Regenerative projects to ensure a sustainable, thriving future. We are aligning our reporting systems with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Our 5th Pillar is Governance:
With corruption so rife in our society, we need to embrace good governance. It assures that corruption is minimised, the views of minorities are taken into account and that the voices of the most vulnerable in society are heard in decision-making. It is also responsive to the present and future needs of Aid.

It’s time to work together to reimagine everything about how we give and get aid. We need to develop an approach that delivers a more impactful aid model, one that achieves sustained growth and tangible transformation, while driving shared value generation for donors, beneficiaries, partners, communities and the environment.
